City officials are coming under fire for their decision to hold a three-day retreat for the governing body and other city leaders at the Sheraton in Albuquerque, but City Manager Timothy Dodge says the retreat will be well worth it if it succeeds in changing the perception that the organization has of itself.
The retreat started Tuesday and is slated to end on Thursday. The city estimates that it will be spending $7,500 in travel costs for the 25 participants, and documents provided indicate that the city will spend about $10,700 more to cover the cost of the facilitator.
