Regarding Tom McDonald’s column on Monday: As a member of the Steering Committee, I recall that during development of our Regional (Mora-San Miguel – Guadalupe) Water Plan, our local governments at the time were only peripherally involved. This may have been because there was no money attached to the plan, and therefore didn’t warrant participation given other irons in the fire.
When completed, the County Commission supported the plan unanimously, but the Las Vegas City Council was reluctant, and a resolution of support passed by just one vote.
