The New Mexico Highlands University Cheerleaders are flying high this year with new aerial tricks and uniforms that match those worn by the Cowboy football team.
“We have a good team — a really strong, dedicated team,” head coach Rosalie Martinez said. “These girls are full-time students. We have practice from 7 to 9 p.m. every night, and they are there all the time.”
She also said this year’s cheerleading squad has more members than in many years.
