Cheer, drill teams back from state

West Las Vegas’ co-ed cheer team placed third among Class 3A teams with 619 points at this past weekend’s NMAA State Spirit Competition in Rio Rancho.

The WLV squad accumulated 336 points on the first day, tied for second, and then tallied 283 on day two. Hope Christian and Bloomfield finished first and second with 696 and 652 points, respectively.

Robertson’s co-ed cheer squad was fifth with 554 points, just behind Raton (576).
