The Tijeras man accused of stabbing his uncle in July is now facing a more serious charge.
Anthony Tapia, 27, had been charged with aggravated battery following the stabbing, which left his uncle in critical condition at University of New Mexico Hospital. But prosecutors in October decided to up the charge to attempted murder, a second-degree felony.
