Champ Rangers await outcome

Mora’s boys basketball team (23-3) avoided all the Monday blues that befell some of its neighbors.

By virtue of their 84-64 rout of Peñasco this past Saturday, the Rangers wrapped up the regular-season district title for 2-2A and the top seed in this week’s district tournament, now under way.

Mora hosts the boys’ district final at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Montoya Gym.

“We were up 46-31 at the half and led by as much as 30 midway into the fourth,” noted Rangers head coach James Branch.
