School general obligation bonds, mill levy approved by voters

By Mercy Lopez

West Las Vegas School Board incumbent Robert Witters was soundly defeated by political newcomer Ambrosio E. Castellano while Christine Ludi, who has served on the West board since 2005, managed to secure enough votes to be elected to her fourth term during Tuesday’s school board election.

And in the race for the Position 5 board seat, Linda M. Martinez (Montoya) defeated rival Carla D. Benavidez.

Ludi and Martinez were elected to four-year terms and Castellano was elected to a two-year term.

West voters also approved a $9 million general obligation bond.
