Mannie Cass burned Colorado State-Pueblo for 34 points Friday night, and the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys inched closer to a winning record at 8-9 overall, 6-7 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
The Cowboys secured an 89-86 win, outscoring the ThunderWolves 18-10 over the last seven minutes. Lionel Coleman’s dunk off a Stargell Love assist made it 87-83, and after the Wolves missed three long shots on the other end, Coleman drew a foul and made both free throws with :04 left.
Stargell Love added 14, Stuart Sullivan 12 and Lavell McDade 11.
