Cardinals dominate Carlsbad tennis meet

Robertson’s boys’ tennis team surprised coach Juan Carlos Fulgenzi with a first-place finish this past weekend in the Cave City Invite in Carlsbad.

The Cardinal boys swept the top three singles flights as Kevin Keiner, Placido Gomez and Emilio Gomez overcame foes David Grege from Belen, Tyler Webb of Hobbs and Kevin Lambeth of El Paso Burgess, respectively. In doubles, they went two for three; the Gomez brothers and the combo of Keiner and Amadeo Lopez beat teams from Burgess and El Paso Austin.
