Pecos defeated Escalante 62-18 in the opening round of the Tri-Cities tournament. The Panthers’ blazing start was key as they sprinted to a 27-2 first-period lead and made it 45-10 by halftime... Pecos went on to beat Santa Rosa 67-41 in Friday’s semifinal to advance to the championship game against tournament host Mora.
