Boxing tourney starts Friday at Crespin’s

Several locals are slated to fight in this coming weekend’s New Mexico State Silver Gloves boxing tournament at Crespin’s Gym.

Mateo Gold will be competing in one of the brackets, said promoter and Silver Gloves coordinator Carlos Crespin. And locals Wally Diaz, Justin Saiz and Savanna Trujillo of Mora may be boxing in show bouts, he noted.

First bout starts 6 p.m. Friday at the gym, located at 900 West Valencia St. The event resumes Saturday and Sunday.
