Sara McWilliams, who turned 100 Friday, listens to Grupo Paisano mariachi music, with her granddaughter-in-law, Vicky Harris, who shares her birthday. The birthday party was celebrated at the home of Sara and Jay Harris. Sara McWilliams is the widow of the late Ralph McWilliams, a long-time member of the Modern Languages Department at Highlands University, who died in 1983. Sara McWilliams, affectionately called "Chula" by family members, is the mother of Sara Harris, Martha Johnsen and Sylvia Lee. She has two older daughters who live in Oaxaca, Luz Maria Gonzalez and Maria de los Dolores Gonzalez. Sara McWilliams is scheduled to be featured in the Optic’s Senior Profile at the end of this month.
