Bean Day and the rodeo that accompanies it are always a big deal in Wagon Mound and northeastern New Mexico. But this year’s rodeo kicked up even more dust than usual.
“This year’s (rodeo) was one of the largest,” said Ron Luebke, secretary of the Wagon Mound Bean Day Association, in a news release submitted to the Optic. “Three action-packed days with 467 competitors. So winning a buckle was no easy chore.”
