The Albuquerque Isotopes return home today hoping to shake off the hangover from a rough trip to New Orleans.
The host Zephyrs won 8-2 Monday night to complete a four-game series sweep over struggling Albuquerque, which has lost five straight and six of its last seven. New Orleans (which won 2-1, 1-0, 4-2 Friday through Sunday) switched places with Albuquerque in the Pacific Coast League’s American South Division. The Zephyrs are 25-25, two and a half games behind Oklahoma; the Isotopes are 24-26.
On Monday, the ‘Topes trailed just 3-2 after the sixth inning but gave up five unanswered runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Shortstop Robert Andino, recently reacquired from the parent Florida Marlins, led Albuquerque at the plate (2-for-4, one RBI).
Marcos Carvajal had the loss; Brian Stokes the win.
The ‘Topes play host to Nashville tonight at 7:05.
