Award nominees

Nueva Vida band members of Mora, Donald Martinez, Alex Martinez, Eugene Brazil and Edna Sena were nominated for awards in six categories including “Song of The Year,” “Rising Star of 2012,” “Corrido Song of The Year,” Latin Pop Crossover Song of The Year,” Instrumental Song of the Year” and “Cumbia Song of The Year” at the 2012 22nd annual New Mexico Hispano Music Awards. The awards event takes place on Saturday at the Ohkay Casino Resort in Española. The group’s 2012 album has gained popularity throughout northern New Mexico with the hit single “No Compro Amores.” Nueva Vida was recognized in November 2012 by the New Mexico Latin Music Academy, receiving the “Los 15 Grandes de Nuevo Mexico Music Award 2012.” Several other local bands and musicians were also nominated for awards.
