Mora County officials say passage of a proposed gross receipts tax increase is crucial in order for the county to be able to provide ambulance service to county residents.
The measure, raising the gross receipts tax in Mora County by one-fourth of 1 percent — is one of the items on the Nov. 6 ballot.
Under state law, the money generated — county officials are estimating it would be about $60,000 a year — would be available for use on ambulance, dispatch and behavioral health services.
