The San Miguel County 4-H organization and rodeo council, under the coordination of the County Extension Office, invites the public to the fourth annual sanctioned 4-H rodeos on Saturday and Sunday at the Santa Fe Trails Event Center (Zamora Arena).

Four-H members from across the state will compete in two rodeos for points toward all-around  and reserve awards and total weekend saddles.  Many local 4-Hers will be competing and are sitting well in standings after rodeos held in other counties.

Many New Mexico 4-H rodeo competitors go on to collegiate rodeo teams. The NMHU team has several former and current San Miguel County 4-Hers, including Jose Griego, J. C. Archuleta and Callie Moore.

The rodeos start each day at 9 a.m. with the grand entry. There will be a gate charge of $4 for adults and $2 for children younger than 14. Concessions will be available.

A cowboy church service will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, allowing family a time of worship before the rodeo starts; Chigger and Joni Bost of Mosquero will lead the worship.

Santa Fe Trail Event Center is northeast of town off Airport Road, directly west of the airport turnoff.
