The 11th Hour is here

-A A +A

We say no to poisoned water and polluted air. A report from Environment America states that 280 billion gallons of toxic wastewater from fracking in the United States was generated in 2012 and 450,000 tons of air pollution was produced in one year.

As the San Miguel County Moratorium on fracking nears its end, citizens are making every effort to ban natural gas fracking.

Two Las Vegas groups, Casa de Cultura and the Committee for Clean Water, Air and Earth are bringing people together for a rally at the Old Town Plaza Park, Friday, Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m.

Featured speaker will be John Olivas, chairman of the Mora County Commission, who successfully banned oil and gas exploration in Mora with a Community Rights Ordinance. There will also be other speakers, an open mike and music. I will be the moderator.

We can’t afford to be silent. We must tell our commissioners to ban fracking in San Miguel County.
