‘Pokes rally past Mavericks

Highlands’ Darius Davis hauled in a 3-yard pass from Emmanuel Lewis for a go-ahead score with 1:52 remaining, completing a late rally by the Cowboys for a 40-36 win over Colorado Mesa on Saturday in Grand Junction, Colo.

The comeback from a 16-point deficit gave the Cowboys a 3-0 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, a 4-1 overall mark, and a two-game win streak heading into homecoming week.

Highlands hosts Western State this coming Saturday.
