‘My Honest Ad’

Students from Debbie Pacheco’s third grade class at Don Cecilio Elementary present kindergarten students their end of the year art called “My Honest Ad” from the Protecting You/Protecting Me Curriculum, which is delivered by the San Miguel County DWI prevention program. Elementary classrooms at both West Las Vegas and Las Vegas City Schools taught about the programs. Students are taught that children’s and youth’s brains are different from adult brains and they should protect their brains by not drinking alcoholic beverages when they are under 21. This unit lets them teach students younger than they the concept which helps them remember what they learned.
