According to the drilling article in Friday’s Optic, “blackmail” appears to be an appropriate description of the letter signed and sent to Gov. Susana Martinez, by several state representatives advising her to “think twice” before approving outlay requests for communities that are seeking to restrict “extractive industries.”

And to think these are the individuals whom we elect to represent us.
