Rociada-area camp to host large Boy Scout winter event

Snow is hoped for, expected, and needed in January. That’s when more than 200 scouts with Boy Scouts of America are scheduled to recreate facets of the famous and historic Klondike Gold Rush of the 1890s.

Eddie Dry, activities director for the Sangre de Cristo district, said the annual event will take place from Jan. 12 to 15 at Camp Davis Guest Ranch in the Rociada area, about 27 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
